It was still a fantastic experience Jim, and we'd never say never to returning and trying again with a little more training and lighter bikes!! :D The experience and the people totally make it.
Wow. Never even knew about this, even though it’s just one state away. Leave it to someone visiting from the other side of the ocean to teach us about our own backyard. Ragbrai is now on my bucket list. Note to self: train 1000 miles with some hills beforehand.
Rode L, LI, and registered for LII. The hills were tough last summer. Sorry it didn't work out better for you.
I'll have a few metric centuries under my belt by June. Still have a lot to learn.
