This is the second in our five-part series following the Camino del Norte as it wends its way along the northern coast of Spain from Donostia/San Sebastian to Bilbao. We walked this first week of the Camino del Norte (Camino de Santiago) in April 2024. The weather was mixed, but more on that later.

First of all, I love this photograph. I don’t know why someone parked their Volvo so close to the edge, closer even than it looks on this image. I’m not sure if someone had dumped the old car or was just doing some work in the fields. So many questions that will remain unanswered. If you walk the Norte anytime soon, please let me know if it is still there!
Have you ever come across curious sites like this whilst on your Camino or another journey? Let me know in the comments what you’ve seen!
However, onwards to day two of the Camino del Norte. To read more about the origins of this route or our first day along The Way from San Sebastian to Bilbao, read our Camino del Norte day one post.
